Phylum: Mollusca Class: Gastropoda Family: Siphonariidae Species: Siphonaria laciniosa Description: Shaped like a truncated cone with an oval base. There are around 17/18 raised radiating ridges interspersed with about 4 less raised intervening ridges. Colour white to grey with brown/purple radiations. Internally the outer pattern shows through, with a pinkish hue to the apex. There is a large kink and extension to one side for the siphon to fit into. Phylum: Mollusca Class: Bivalvia Family: Solenidae Species: Solen cylindraceus Description: A narrow, extremely elongated rectangle, the shell is translucent with extremely fine rectangular growth lines. Externally there is a thin brown periostracum. Internally there is a sharp, small, single tooth at one end of the hinge line. Typical size: L 50mm, W 14mm.
