With Bahrain’s shores being my playground as a child, I’m a nature lover by default, a marine biologist by profession & the brain behind bnature. I have witnessed nature’s alarming decline through my time working on various reefs across the world including Bahrain, Indonesia, Madagascar, and the Seychelles. In 2006 when my journey into marine biology began and following my return to the island in 2011, information related to the environmental scene in Bahrain was unavailable to guide me. I decided to create bnature to support and pave the way for young people coming into the field in addition to spreading environmental awareness amongst the residents of Bahrain. This is the legacy I wish to leave behind for the future generations of this island, for there is nothing as valuable as access to information and knowledge.

Ali started his journey with bnature when the team needed the technical expertise to bring bnature as a platform to life. Ali earned his degree in ICT from Bahrain Polytechnic in 2014, and currently he is pursuing his Master of Business Administration from the Swiss Business School (SBS). His interests in technology, and environmental sustainability brought him closer to the team and made him the technical expertise behind bnature. Professionally, Ali works in a research & advisory firm to help executives and their teams to make better informed business decisions. His years of experience locally and internationally in information technology and business helps guide the future of bnature as a web platform.

“I like to learn. That’s an art and science” is a quote by Katherine Johnson which I find best reflects my character. I have a tendency to want to compile information to express it in a concise and accessible way, which is why I eagerly document life around me, whether through photography, digital content creation or collecting related information. As an Environmental Scientist, I find that there is always a story to be explored and art to be found in learning. I am still exploring to find my niche with my interests leaning towards biodiversity, conservation, and education; and I am enjoying the learning journey towards finding out what that is. Along the way, I hope to be able to share and communicate the science and my love for nature with the community.

Born in Zimbabwe, I have been privileged to have travelled the world extensively and experience nature's diversity. The natural environment has always been something that amazes and intrigues me, as we are learning something new every day. In 2015, I Co-founded Raptor Rehab Bahrain, over the years our organization has rescued, rehabilitated, and released many different indigenous, migratory, and exotic birds of prey in Bahrain and Internationally. Being a mother of two and a teacher I feel strongly about the importance of acting now to give our children a better and greener future.

Koussay is a founder of KJH Consultancy which is a consortium of experts and consultants in a wide range of management, digital transformation, marketing and communication fields strategy, business management and digital transformation consultant. He is also a certified life coach, team coach and an emotional intelligence assessor.

Scarlet is a senior graphic designer with 12 years of experience. She is an expert in uplifting the corporate world with her creativity through understanding the needs of her clients and finding creative ways to solve their problems. She helps companies to develop and enhance their corporate identity. She considers herself as the change management expert.

Mehdi is a web developer with a background in design. He is always optimistic, determined, flexible and passionate about creating web applications. He likes to follow and discover all the new technologies to improve his technical and creative skills.

Tamera recently graduated with a Master in Environmental Management from Duke University specialising in environmental data and geospatial analysis and policy. While getting her professional start in the environmental field in Bahrain, work across a range of sectors including government, private consultancy, and advocacy. In 2014, Tamera had the pleasure of falling into the company of her fellow bnature team members and hopes to use her recently acquired skills in data and GIS to continue supporting bnature's work. She is currently living in North Carolina in the US.

Eman’s passion lies within the sight of sustainable development with a focus on environmental sustainability. A holder of an MSc. in Environmental Management and Business, it comes as no surprise that Eman enjoys conducting marriage ceremonies between business and environmental sustainability. A climate reality leader, Eman is busy working on setting the foundation for sustainability in the region.

The voice of justice, Ashwaq is a law and policy expert with a natural instinct to address environmental issues and concerns. A leader in the Bahraini youth climate movement, Ashwaq is currently working on expanding her knowledge in the environmental policy field as she embraces her calling to fight, protect and conserve nature.
