Family: Falconidae Species: Falco naumanni Common Name: Lesser Kestrel Description: Kestral's pass through Bahrain on migration in the spring. Many are cuaght and sold in bird souks putting the species under threat. They occasionally breed in Bahrain. The Lesser Kestral is a relatively small bird of prey, buts its beak is perfectly designed for tearing apart its prey and its eyes are able to detect tiny prey from several hundred meters away.
