Bahrain currently hosts two citizen science programmes one titled “Log Our Biodiversity” which was brought to Bahrain in 2013 by the Arab Youth Climate Movement (AYCM) Bahrain making it the kingdom’s first citizen science program.

In 2016, bnature has collaborated with The Gulf Elasmo Project (UAE) to bring the second citizen science programme which focuses of enabling citizens to help log sharks species in Bahrain whereby the data collected will not only help Bahrain keep track of its shark population but will also feed into a regional programme titled “Eyes on Elasmos” which is led by Dr. Rima Jabado in the UAE as part of the Gulf Elasmo Project.
